A land of promise or a land of dismay?

Immigrants who fail to make a good life in Canada have opened up a website sharing "failure stories" and warn other would-be immigrants to be realistic about the Canadian dream.

NotCanada.com lists eight reasons why people should not come to Canada.

1. No Jobs
2. Worst Weather
3. No Culture
4. Money Hungry Government
5. Very High Taxes
6. Health Care Crisis
7. Out Of Control Cost Of Living
8. Discriminatory and Dishonest Immigration System

I found it particularly interesting to see disappointed immigrants see Canada having "no culture":

Unlike almost every other country in the world, Canada has no culture. Actually American culture is what dominates Canada. When was the last time you had some 'Canadian' food? There are no Canadian traditions and there is no national identity. What does it even mean to call yourself a 'Canadian'. . .nothing really. People living in Canada, still identify themselves with the country they 'originally' came from.

In the "About" section, the webmaster says:

NotCanada.com is run by a team of former Canadian citizens, who have now permanently left Canada and are happily living and working abroad.

And the goals of NotCanada.com are:

1. Inform the world about the TRUTH about Canada.
2. Expose the lies and deceit of the Canadian Embassies around the world.
